| 411 on Youth Many times, especially in the early years, adolescents will often go overboard with trying to identify themselves with famous people to the point that they lose a sense of their own individuality. Idolizing celebrities does not necessarily mean that adolescents endorse idols' lifestyles or values; but it does play a huge role in influencing their behavior, from the way they dress, who they talk like, who they hang out with, their attitudes and so on. With the rage of suicide, drug abuse, murder and gang warfare moving through the circles of our youth, we want to give them hope even when the situation around them seems hopeless. Miles Ahead has a passion and compassion for the youth of the world to encourage and to help them find direction for their lives, to set goals, and to make commitments for Jesus Christ. Our events and projects offer an environment that is in touch with today's youth culture and trends. Because only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can transform the tragedy that is happening among today's youth, our purpose is to give them the truth and the tools to avoid the pitfalls that could hurt or destroy their lives. "The Son of Man has come to seek and save the lost." Luke 19:10. Media is used by Satan as one of the most effective, strategic, targets to the demise of the teenage population. He has craftily made his way through our television sets, computers and radios and has influenced generations with his evil agenda. What does this have to do with Miles Ahead? Everything! For this very reason, we need to infiltrate the same targets, exposing the harsh realities of issues facing today's culture and win back many of the lost generation to Jesus, giving them something greater to reach for and hope in; changing their idol influences toward role models who point to faith in Jesus. Our TV project will enlighten and inspire viewers as it encapsulates the relevance of hope, no matter what struggles youth may face. |
