| What is Miles Ahead? Lead 1 Million Teens to Jesus Christ. Miles Ahead began in 1992 when Miles McPherson started an organization called "Project Intercept." It's mission was to "educate, liberate and motivate" the youth of America by conducting inspirational high school assemblies and developing mentor programs for "at-risk" youth in the greater San Diego area. Less than three years later, the Lord revealed to Miles that his energy needed to be expanded to proclaim the gospel to entire cities through the Miles Ahead Crusades. Even though he had become well-known as a popular motivational speaker and an authority on subjects such as abstinence, self-esteem, teen suicide, gangs, violence and drug abuse, it became clear to Miles that his true passion and call from God was to proclaim the gospel of Christ to as many youth as possible. (The crusades would utilize his experience in school assemblies and mentoring programs by motivating believers throughout an entire city to reach out to young people). It was then that the organization was renamed Miles Ahead - with the mission and mandate to provide Miles with opportunities to present the good news to all young people everywhere… to lead 1 Million Teens to the saving grace of Jesus Christ by the year 2012. Over the years, Miles Ahead has enabled Miles to extend the church beyond its four walls and to penetrate many uncommon environments where young people are found. Miles has traveled across America speaking in many various places from high schools to sports arenas. He has appeared on national television and radio programs including Focus on the Family, MTV, and Special Town Meeting with Peter Jennings. He has captured the attention and respect of street kids, inner-city youth, gang members, gen-XYZ-ers, and non-churched youth of every age, ethnicity and background. With his humorous yet bold, down-to-earth style, Miles McPherson has been uniquely gifted and called by God to reach the world's youth. |
