DO Something! Be in the A.R.M.Y.

For many years I have been convinced that if you are going to be effective in making your life count for God, you need to be a part of the A.R.M.Y. You need to DO Something and utilize the gifts that God has given to you. Let me share with you the core of the training we are bringing to churches and leaders around the country.

A.R.M.Y. is an acronym I have developed to symbolize some key ingredients in how we all should be living the Christian life. Here’s what I mean.

A.  Accountability Relationships
As a disciple of Christ you should look for someone who can keep you accountable in your walk with God. This should be someone of the same gender with whom you can be honest and trust. If you do not get someone who can keep you accountable in your walk, you will drift away. God wants you to be effective for Him.

R.  Reaching the Lost by living and evangelistic lifestyle
As disciples of Christ we need to be constantly thinking, praying and planning for people to share Christ with. Your life needs to reflect Christ, who came to seek the lost. It’s not scary or complicated; all you need to do is tell your story of how God loves you.

M.  Ministry and Service
We all have the opportunity to serve God and to be involved in Ministry and Service. You have been given specific gifts that you can you to glorify God and be a blessing to others. Look around you! You’re surrounded by needy people you can help.

Y.  Yo' Money, Time, Talent and Resources
All you have is from God. How are you stewarding what God has given to you? If you are living for God, you will be making your decisions based on how you believe God would want you to use your resources and spend your time.

Being in the A.R.M.Y. is something you can do. In March and April we are challenging churches with this message in Jamaica. Thousands of people will hear this message and we believe this will make a significant impact in the lives of many people.

Thank you for continuing to remember Miles Ahead in your prayers and in your financial giving. We need to see some miracles over the next two months! The costs of the Crusade in Jamaica are significant, and we need your help in bringing the message of hope to thousands of youth throughout this nation. Please consider a special gift today.

God Bless

Miles

Jamaica Update

Momentum is building! Anticipation is growing! What for? For the “Best Dressed 50 Fest.” This is the name for the crusade event in Jamaica April 25-May 4th, as we partner with the 50th Anniversary of Jamaica Broilers (“Best Dressed Chicken”). We have filled all of our available ministry teams; 260 people from five churches and four states, and even an international participant, will be ministering with us. We know there are going to be many stories of lives transformed through these ministry teams.

In February we began sharing plans for discipleship and follow-up efforts with all of the churches in Montego Bay. We are giving the pastors the opportunity to rally their congregations with the message of A.R.M.Y. We are also recruiting volunteers from the A.R.M.Y. sessions to be ushers, prayer workers, and altar call attendants. We believe we need approximately 800 volunteers to effectively minister to all who will attend the main event May 2-3.

On February 15, 2008, Miles had the opportunity to speak at a youth conference in Belize. This was the second time that Miles has been to Belize. Young people drove for as long as three hours to be a part of this conference. Several hundred teenagers heard a very clear gospel message, and many made decisions for Christ.

While in Belize, Miles Ahead also launched plans to partner with the churches of Belize with a pastors' conference on June 13 and 14, 2008. We are very excited to be able to help train, equip and empower leaders in the work of evangelism. Pray for the relationships we are forging. God wants to do a special work in this nation.

With all that the Lord is doing in our ministry we have decided to hold our Annual Gala and Golf Tournament on September 22-23. Please mark your calendars now. This is a date change from June.

Our relationship with Trinidad and Tobago is starting to be formed. Miles has been invited to speak with more than 100 pastors and leaders April 25-27 in Trinidad. We believe this will set the stage and possibly open the doors for a crusade event sometime in 2009.

We are still in dialogue with pastors and leaders in Wichita, Kansas. We expect to be able to announce dates for 2009 in the near future. Watch for these dates soon in future Chronicles.

As you can see, we have some great ministry opportunities ahead of us. We also have some very significant financial needs in the month of March and April, when 75 percent of all the Jamaica crusade expenses will occur. Please consider with your prayers this month a special financial gift to help us with the expenses involved. We are on our knees praying and trusting for the Lord’s provision. We need your help today!
